A statement from Washington County Immigrant Justice Working Group, on the 3/28 No Kings rally:
Today, there are over 3,000 No Kings protests planned across the United States in response to the Trump administration’s authoritarian actions domestically and abroad. These protests demonstrate that we, the working class, have sovereignty and value the innate rights of humans. It is imperative that we propel this momentum to organize our neighborhoods in anticipation of door-to-door ICE operations as in Minnesota. These acts of violence endanger both our neighbors and our communities.
In response to the shooting of Alex Pretti, a former White House official stated:
“The reality is, you can’t stop what you’re doing…This is the whole point of ICE existing in these cities, and Minnesota is not going to be the last state that ICE goes to. Oregon was next. We were not done. We need to keep going.”
